November is not quite here yet, so there's still time to celebrate Oktoberfest!  In fact, a 15-piece traditional Bavarian band from Germany - Wuelfershaeuser - is in town this weekend.  Thank goodness music is the universal language because you could give me 10 tries and I still wouldn't be able to pronounce their name correctly.

Wuelfershaeuser will be performing at several locations and functions.  Friday evening from 5-6 they will be in front of the Sam's on Highway 59 in Lufkin, then beginning at 7, they'll be performing in front of the Standpipe in downtown Lufkin.

Saturday is the big day.  The Angel of Joy Lutheran Church at 4003 Daniel McCall Drive in Lufkin (near Angelina College) will be hosting an Oktoberfest event complete with authentic German food, arts and crafts booths, face painting, door prizes, and performances by Wuelfershaeuser.  Oktoberfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The video below is part of a radio interview of the band as well as performance montage.  I'm ready to polka!!
