Car Chase Ends In Foot Race In Crown Colony
In a press release from the City of Lufkin Communications director Jessica Pebsworth, a vehicle pursuit turned into a foot chase in Crown Colony on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
The Lufkin Police Department attempted to pull over a vehicle resulting in a car chase inside the high-end Lufkin subdivision. The man left his vehicle and officers gave chase and apprehended the suspect.
With the person in custody, there is no longer any danger to the public. During the foot chase, the Lufkin Fire Department responded to a generator fire on Deerfield Drive, also in Crown Colony.
Family Escapes House Filled With Smoke In Crown Colony
The family safely escaped the smoke-filled house. The Lufkin Police and Fire Department were both in the subdivision simultaneously.
I think that led to many calls to the police station from concerned citizens. The press release said that they will provide more details on the pursuit as it becomes available.
Then the bottom dropped out and another large thunderstorm began in the area. That is a lot going on in the same place.
Second Incident In The Area In Two Days
On Wednesday, the Lufkin Police arrested Rober Harris, 47, of Center, Texas following a bank robbery right outside the subdivision. The Cadence Bank Lufkin Southern Colony Branch, near Academy Sports and Outdoors on Brentwood Drive is very close to the back entrance to Crown Colony.
