If you have been driving around Lufkin trying to stay cool because your power is still out, you might have noticed some tidy piles of limbs on lawns. Those residents are following guidance from the City Of Lufkin.

I have been hearing nothing but praise for the city's job of cleaning up tropical storm Beryl debris. Some residents even mentioned they raked up their yards after hauling off limbs.

A big word of thanks to everyone at the City of Lufkin Solid Waste Services. They have been working hard to make this clean up go as smoothly as possible.

TROPICAL STORM BERYL DEBRIS GUIDELINES

  1. Sort Debris Correctly: Combine yard debris in one pile. Separate any additional trash, like furniture, into another pile. Each requires a separate pickup request as they are handled differently.
  2. Tree Debris Requirements: Cut fallen tree trunks into pieces shorter than 6 feet for removal.
  3. Contractor Responsibilities: If you hire a contractor to remove trees, they are responsible for debris removal.
  4. Oncor Ticket System: If Oncor clears a fallen tree and power lines, they will return to remove it based on their ticketing system.

Please understand our response time may be longer than usual due to the volume of debris from Tropical Storm Beryl. Your patience is appreciated as we work diligently to clean up the area.
