
Lufkin Man Arrested After Robbery Spree
Lufkin Police shared in a Facebook post that they have apprehended Antonio Jerome Mitchell, 46, of Lufkin, after his involvement in a series of finance companies who do monthly installment loans robberies.

He was caught in the middle of a robbery, has confessed to a robbery, and is the prime suspect in two additional cases in the area.
Morning Of Alarms And Action In Lufkin
At 10:40 AM this morning, the Lufkin Police Department (LPD) patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery at Western Finance on South Chestnut. An employee recounted the encounter to officers about a man, later found to be Mitchell, demanding cash while alluding to the fact that he was armed, but not showing a gun.
While LPD officers were still at Western Finance, another robbery call came in. The report was of a robbery at Covington Credit on Frank Ave. They got a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer.

While doing a quick search of the area, the vehicle was located parked at an apartment complex on South John Redditt Drive. That led LPD to find Mitchell and arrest him in a nearby apartment.
