When an illegal immigrant commits a crime in Texas they are treated the same as citizens, until the sentencing. They could be deported. According to usa.gov, some are even returned to their home country before a hearing.

They also still have their Miranda rights, just like citizens. They have the right to remain silent and to ask for an immigration attorney, even if they are currently in jail.

Guatemalan National Added To 10 Most Wanted List

A new fugitive has been added to the Texas Department Of Public Safety (DPS) 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants list. Geovany Saul Carcamo, 27, is a criminal illegal immigrant from Guatemala.

He has ties to the Grayson County area including the city of Sherman. Carcamo was already removed from the United States in 2022.

On December 3rd a warrant was sent out by the Sherman Police Department for his arrest for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Carcamo likely fled the area on December 5th.
