Peppard Autoplex Lot Completely Demolished in Nacogdoches

For as long as I can remember, the original Peppard Autoplex lot has been at the corner of West Hospital Street and North Street in Nacogdoches, right next to the First Baptist Church. I know that a few years ago they also opened up a lot on South Street, just outside of the loop, and had one lot on University Drive.

However, the original was always the one on North Street. As of this weekend, that original lot is no more.

The past few weeks as I've driven by the Peppard Autoplex, I've noticed some work going on. But this weekend the work that was going on was the total removal of the original car dealership. This is what I saw:

As you can see, other than the awning - which I'm sure is gone by now - the entire building has been demolished.

As for the future plans for the lot, I haven't heard any definitive details, so I don't have any insight as to what the empty space will look like in a few months. Some people are asking if the church next door will be expanding their parking lot, but those were just questions.

As far as the Peppard Autoplex group goes...All of their locations are now closed. Like you can see on the awning in the picture above, they were around starting in 1980. A 40+ year run is pretty awesome.
