Dressed Up Geese Become Latest Home Decor Statement in Nacogdoches

We've seen lots of house and yard decoration fads come and go over the years. We've had things like the "Jesus is Lord" crosses, the big metal pinwheels, ribbons of all different colors, shapes and sizes. Now, there's a new fad that's started showing up.

Porch Geese are a Thing in Nacogdoches

I don't know if this is a thing in other places around Deep East Texas - or anywhere else, for that matter - but in Nacogdoches, there are now houses that have porch geese out in front of them. But I'm not talking about just goose sculptures. People go all out with these things, dressing them up in different outfits.

I've seen sports outfits for different teams, Hawaiian themes, costumes for all of the different holidays, and more. And you know what? I think it's pretty cool. I don't know that I would ever put one in front of my house, but it is pretty interesting to see people dress them up in all of the different decor options.

And it's gotten to be such a thing - at least in Nacogdoches - that some of the local stores are getting into the game. You can actually buy porch geese from some of the local vendors!

I don't know about you guys, but it is pretty entertaining to drive through some of our local neighborhoods and see just how creative these homeowners can get. I still haven't seen a San Antonio Spurs themed goose, so I'm still keeping an eye out for that.
