SFA Offering Free Shuttle Rides for Students from Campus to Downtown Nacogdoches

One of the biggest components to Nacogdoches is the students of Stephen F. Austin State University. This is a very obvious thing. Without the students, there would be no university, and without the university, Nacogdoches would look a lot different - probably not for the better, but I digress. To get the students more familiar with the town, the university is doing something pretty cool over the next couple of Saturdays.

SFA Buses to Downtown Nacogdoches on August 29th, September 5th

Starting at 8:30 AM on Saturday, August 29th and Saturday, September 5th, SFA students can take advantage of a shuttle service that will take them from the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the SFA campus, to the downtown Nacogdoches area. According to the event page on the Visit Nacogdoches website, it goes from the student center to the farmer's market, then to the actual downtown brick streets, then back to the student center again. It will repeat that route continuously until 2:30 PM both days.

This is a chance for the students to get to know the city and what it has to offer. While downtown, they'll get the chance to shop at the farmers market between 9:00 AM and noon, and they'll get the chance to shop at the downtown businesses after they open up at 10:00 AM.

There are also specials running that day. Susu's Popcorn is giving out free bags of popcorn to students with valid student ID's as well as 10% off their purchase in the store. But, that's not all. There will also be food trucks set up in various locations downtown. Chamber's Smokehouse, Greek Bites and Oh How Sweet Lemonade will be set up on the square. Shali's Indian Kitchen will be at the Fredonia Brewery, and Revolution Road Wood-Fired Pizza will be at Red House Winery. This way, students can get a taste of some of Nacogdoches' local cuisine, as well.
