SFA Nursing Students Host Free Drive-Thru Flu Vaccine Event in October

Flu vaccinations aren't fun. I mean, come on, who likes to get poked with a needle? If you have to pay for them, it's even worse. However, there's an opportunity coming up in Nacogdoches for you to get free flu vaccinations, and you don't even have to leave your car.

SFA Nursing Students Offering Free Drive-Thru Flu Vaccinations

According to a press release from the SFA University Marketing Communications, nursing students in the DeWitt School of Nursing will be administering free drive-thru flu vaccinations on October 9th and 10th at 5707 North Street, which is the location of the DeWitt School of Nursing Complex.

They will be offering flu shots from Noon until 6:30 PM on Friday October 9th, and again from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10th. The shots will be given by fourth-semester nursing students that are taking a community health course, as part of a partnership with East Texas Community Health Services. Like I mentioned above, these vaccinations are completely free of charge and anyone over the age of four is eligible to get a vaccine.

And the other thing about this event is that it is truly a drive-thru event. You don't even have to get out of your car. They will be able to administer the vaccine through your open window. It's a pretty simple process, and the only pain is the prick of the needle - which there's no getting around that minor detail.
