Texas Offers Lifetime Hunting and Fishing Licenses for Outdoor Enthusiasts
We're right in the middle of prime fishing season. If you haven't already gotten a fishing license, let this serve as your reminder to get one before you go back out on the water. Pretty soon we'll be back at the beginning of hunting season. Once again, if you haven't already gotten a license for that, this is your reminder to get one before the season starts.
Or, instead of getting two licenses at different times, what if you could just get one combo and be done...for life?
Texas Offers Lifetime Hunting and Fishing Licenses
If you're an avid hunter or fisherman, then you might want to just go ahead and buy a license that will be good for the rest of your life. The state of Texas actually has this option. According to the Texas Parks & Wildlife website, you can buy a lifetime hunting license, a lifetime fishing license, or a combination of both. Only Texas residents are eligible to apply for these licenses.
And, if you do the math, the prices for these licenses aren't too bad. For a lifetime fishing license, the cost is $1,000. It's the same price for the lifetime hunting license. However, if you buy the combination hunting and fishing package, it costs $1,800. As of right now, the cost for a yearly super combo license is $68, but there's no guarantee that the current price won't change.

Either way, we'll go back to what I started with: Make sure you have your license. Because regardless of how much you might have to pay for the license beforehand, I promise you that it'll be WAY cheaper than having to pay for the ticket if you don't have one.
