What Is Ransom Canyon?

Ransom Canyon centers on a local rancher named Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) and the long friendship between him and local dancehall owner Quinn O'Grady (Minka Kelly). She's a concert pianist who has returned to her hometown in Texas after a career setback shattered her self-confidence.

They've been friends since high school, but Kirkland and O'Grady developed into an on-and-off romance with a lot of old baggage during Season 1, and their relationship came apart by the end of the season.

What Happens in Ransom Canyon Season 2?

Ransom Canyon Season 2 provides more complications for Staten and Quinn as she pursues a new relationship with another man, but as the season comes to an end, the couple find their way back together — and this time, it looks like it might be for good.

Ransom Canyon is based on a popular series of books by Jodi Thomas, and while the first two seasons did not follow the books exactly, fans can still look to the source material to find out what might happen next.

As the Direct reports, the relationship between Staten and Quinn develops slowly in the books, as they have multiple casual hookups as friends before realizing they have romantic feelings.

However, Quinn gets pregnant by Staten in the book series and they decide to keep the baby, and that makes them realize they love each other.

Staten and Quinn do wed in the book series and raise their child together as a married couple.
