
Louisiana Baseball Coach Suspended After Taking Clothes Off During Meltdown
CENTRAL, La. - The head coach for the Central High School baseball team has been suspended for the remainder of the 2026 season by the LHSAA following an on-field meltdown during a game in which he stripped clothes off in frustration of a call.
Heated Argument Turns Into Wild Meltdown
Things escalated quickly during a recent high school baseball matchup when Central High’s head coach, Sham Gabehart, strongly disagreed with a call at second base.
After a close play didn’t go his team’s way, Coach Gabehart stormed out of the dugout to confront the umpire. But instead of a typical argument, the situation took a bizarre turn...he began removing parts of his uniform in protest.

LHSAA Hands Down Major Punishment
The Louisiana High School Athletic Association reviewed the incident and didn’t take long to respond. Officials announced that Gabehart will be suspended for the remainder of the 2026 baseball season, including all upcoming playoff games and team activities.

Tough Timing For Central Baseball Team
The suspension couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Central High finished the regular season strong with a record of 24-9 and a district record of 7-2 earning them a spot in the state playoffs. However, Central High baseball will now have to continue without their head coach.
