Keith Urban Covers Maren Morris’ ’80s Mercedes’ With Help From His Little Girl
Keith Urban and Maren Morris got into a friendly sing-off this week, taking turns at posting covers almost as good of the originals of each other's tracks.
It started when Morris posted a cover "Blue Ain't Your Color" off of Urban's most recent project, Ripcord. Her voice matches perfectly with the bluesy, soulful song, with a little help from an acoustic guitar.
The 48-year-old country singer was so impressed, he took a chance on one of Morris' songs, her latest single "80's Mercedes." In true Urban fashion, he rocked it with just a guitar and his vocals, sitting on a couch in what appears to be a basement, completely casual in a pair of shorts. Credit for the camerawork goes to the superstar's 5-year-old daughter, Faith Urban.
Beyond singing one another's tunes, Morris and Urban are keeping their summers busy by traveling cross country along with Brett Eldredge as a part of Urban's Ripcord World Tour. The trek will stay stateside through November. Following that, Urban will team up with Carrie Underwood to take the show down under for shows in Australia and New Zealand.
