Kilgore Man Takes Top Prize at Big Bass Splash [PHOTOS]

A lot of folks though it would take at least a 10.5 pound bass to win the annual KICKS/McDonalds Big Bass Splash on Toledo Bend this past weekend.

J.D. Harris of Laird Hill, TX (near Kilgore) is glad they were wrong.  Harris brought in a 9.17 bass on the 2nd day of the tourney, and no one else in the 3-day event brought in a fish over 9 pounds.  So, Harris won the top prize of a new boat and truck valued at over $100,000.

The top five finishers were:

1. J.D Harris, Laird Hill, TX - 9.17
2. Lance Thompson, Benton, LA - 8.86
3. David Jones, Alexandria, LA - 8.51
4. Jeffrey Trammel, Grant, LA - 8.47
5. Charlie Westmoreland, Lake Charles - 8.41
