Catch The Polar Express With Santa At Kurth Library in Lufkin
Would you be interested in a Polar Express experience in Lufkin that is absolutely FREE?
As a part of Kurth Memorial Library’s Christmas break programming, they will have an interactive screening of the movie The Polar Express at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 22, followed by a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The first 100 audience members will receive a free prop bag with items to help them participate in the classic movie, and hot chocolate will be served.
Following the movie, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive and be available for selfies and short visits with youngsters who have last-minute requests for Santa.
“For those who haven’t seen Santa yet, this could be your last chance before Christmas,” Library Manager Julie Massey said. “Come take a family selfie to preserve Christmas memories.”
The movie, based on the book by Chris van Allsburg, takes a young boy on a midnight train ride to the North Pole. Along the way, he meets other children who share in the mysterious, magical events of the ride.
Participants involved in the interactive screening of the movie will act as additional passengers on the train as it rushes along the track and skids across an icy lake. They will be able to do sound effects for the train whistle, eat snacks, and sing along and dance to the songs. The library is located at 706 South Raguet in Lufkin, next door to Pineywoods Community Academy.
