Lightsaber Prank Gets Wannabe Jedis Suspended, Banned From Graduation
Two high school seniors at Westfield High School in Massachusetts wanted to entertain their fellow students by staging a lightsaber battle in the school cafeteria during lunch.
According to onlookers, one of the seniors entered the cafeteria from one side, and the other from another, and then they met in the middle for a 30-second showdown with their toy lightsabers.
While the crowd found the battle highly entertaining, the school's administration wasn't so pleased, and slapped the faux combatants with two-day suspensions and banned them from their upcoming graduation ceremony.
"They very easily could have hit another student ... someone could have gotten hurt," said Westfield High School Principal Raymond Broderick, using a variation of the old "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt" to justify the punishment.
If you want to support amnesty for wannabe Jedi pranksters, a Facebook group demanding that the two be allowed to walk at graduation has been established.
