Two Lufkin HS Students Earn College Board BigFuture Ambassadors
Two Lufkin High School students have been named as College Board BigFuture Ambassadors for the Fall 2024 semester. Class of 2025 Senior, Cassandra Lopez, and Class of 2027 Sophomore, Tripp McManus were chosen for the program after applying last spring.
As part of the College Board's BigFuture Program, ambassadors help students connect with BigFuture School to navigate life after high school. Students attend Zoom meetings, plan and share free college and career resources via social media, provide feedback on the program to College Board, and network with other students in the program.
The BigFuture Ambassador Program is open to rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who attend schools that offer the PSAT/NMSQT or SAT School Day, regardless of whether you’re interested in a four-year college, two-year college, or career training.
Students under the age of 13 cannot sign up to be a BigFuture Ambassador. This program runs from September 2024 to December 2024. Spring applications for 2025 will open soon. Interested students can apply here.
Why Do Students Become Ambassadors?
Past Ambassadors stepped up because they wanted to help their friends. They also appreciated the recognition they earn for their leadership. BigFuture will notify your school if you’re selected for the program. You can also include this activity on your college applications or resume. Ambassadors can earn merch by taking action to share free college and career resources with classmates and caring adults.
Congratulations to Cassandra Lopez and Tripp McManus!
