The UIL Texas High School Boys Basketball Playoffs are now moving into the fourth round.  It's time for the Regional Semi-final games.  These teams are now just two wins away from moving on to the state tournament.  Four wins would mean a state championship.

Four teams from Deep East Texas are still alive and will be playing in their respective regional semi-final games on Friday night.

The Chireno Owls will make the long trip to Austin for their 1-A regional tournament.  The Owls have defeated Oakwood, Avalon, and Hubbard thus far in the playoffs.

The Timpson Bears will be traveling to Athens for their 2-A regional tournament.  Timpson has defeated Brookeland, Garrison, and Big Sandy (Dallardsville) so far in the playoffs.

The Diboll Lumberjacks will be heading to the Waco area for their 3-A regional tournament.  Diboll has defeated Woodville, Tarkington, and Buna in the playoffs.

The Lufkin Panthers will be going to Garland for their 5-A regional tournament.  The Pack has defeated Texas High, Forney, and Sulphur Springs in the playoffs.

Chireno vs McMullen, Friday, March 4, 6 p.m. at Austin Del Valle High School

  • The winner will play on Saturday, March 5, at 12 noon in Del Valle against the winner of the Trinidad/Calvert matchup.

Timpson vs LaPoyner, Friday, March 4, 6 p.m. at Athens High School

  • The winner will play on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m. in Athens against the winner of the Frankston/Beckville matchup.

Diboll vs Lorena, Friday, March 4, 7:30 p.m. at Waco Midway High School

  • The winner will play on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m. in Waco Midway against the winner of the Franklin/Hitchcock game.

Lufkin vs Kimball, Friday, March 4, 6 p.m. at the Culwell Center in Garland

  • The winner will play on Saturday, March 5 at 1 p.m. against the winner of the Memorial/Mt. Pleasant game.
