According to a release today from Lufkin ISD,  Superintendent Lynn Torres announced that Amy Fain, previous Anderson Elementary principal, will be taking on the role as principal at Brookhollow Elementary. Mrs. Fain recently announced that she would be leaving the district to be with family in the College Station area. However, her plans changed, and she has now accepted the position at Brookhollow Elementary.

Mrs. Torres said, “Mrs. Fain has been with the district for fourteen years. Her experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and principal make her the perfect leader to work with the staff and students at Brookhollow. We said our goodbyes and were so sad to see that she would be leaving us, and as fate would have it, those plans did not work out. We are thrilled to have her back with us in this capacity.”

Prior to her employment with Lufkin ISD, Mrs. Fain taught second, third, and fourth grade for Coppell ISD in the Dallas Metroplex for 17 years. In Lufkin ISD, she worked at Anderson Elementary teaching 3rd grade for eight years. She then was the Instructional Coach at Trout Primary for three years and Brandon Elementary Instructional Coach for a year. She was the Summer School Principal two years and the Principal at Anderson Elementary for two years. This will be her 32nd year in education.

Mrs. Fain earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University. In 2012, she earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mrs. Fain said, “I originally had decided to move to be closer to family. After much prayer, I decided there is no place I’d rather be than Lufkin and having the opportunity to work for Lufkin ISD. There is not a better district in the state that cares about its staff and students like Lufkin ISD. Throughout my career, I’ve loved working for Lufkin ISD because they consistently go above and beyond providing support for their teachers, administrators, and students. The relationships that I have built throughout the district, have become like family connections. It is a truly special place.”

Mrs. Fain will immediately begin her transition to the Brookhollow Elementary campus and will meet with staff via Zoom and social distancing.

Mrs. Fain and her husband, David, have been married for 27 years. They enjoy playing golf and attending Texas A&M sporting events. Their son, William, will graduate from Texas A&M University in December of this year.
