The Complete List of When Deep East Texas Schools Return to Class

Four Deep East Texas school districts will start classes for the upcoming fall semester on Monday, August 4th. Faculty and staff for those schools will be heading back around the final week of July.

I'm writing this on June 12, so there is still plenty of the summer break ahead of us. But, every year, I like to find out which schools in the Pineywoods will be the first to head back, and which get the longest breaks.

The First Four, the Last Four, and The Big Day

Latexo, Leggett, Onalaska, and Timpson are the school districts that will be starting classes first on Monday, August 4th. These schools all have 4-day weeks, and they usually start the semester earlier than others.

Central Heights, Shepherd, Fredonia Hill Baptist Academy, and West Sabine are the schools that will be reporting the latest for their first day of class -- August 20th.

Meanwhile, August 13th is the 'Big Day' when 17 area school districts will start their fall semester.
