Lufkin Man Charged in Rash of Central Area Burglaries
According to a press release from the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, deputies and detectives of the ACSO are continuing to investigate a rash of vehicle burglaries which occurred over the weekend in the area of FM 1194 and in the area of the Idlewood Subdivision of Angelina County.
So far approximately 6 motor vehicle burglaries have been cleared, along with at least two burglaries of buildings. In addition, charges of credit/debit card abuse and fleeing police are pending. The investigation stems from the overnight arrest of Justin S. Jones, 22, by deputies of the Sheriff’s Office and Trooper Pitts of the Texas Department of Public Safety – Highway Patrol. Jones has been charged with multiple offenses and is currently in the Angelina County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
Law Enforcement officials are asking all residents to remove all valuables from their vehicles, lock the doors, and record serial numbers of all property possible. These simple steps will reduce this crime of opportunity.
