A Lufkin High School senior will soon get his opportunity to 'be all he can be'.
During a ceremony at Lufkin High School, United States Congressman Pete Sessions addressed a gathering to acknowledge Elias Moore's appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. Friends, family, students, Lufkin ISD staff, school board members and Congressional dignitaries gathered to show their support for this well-deserved honor.
Principal Julie McManus extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests. Associate Principal Harlan Neal spoke of his personal connection with Elias and how he began at Lufkin High School in 2022 and made instant friends. He spoke about Elias' character and how his attributes line up with West Point values.
Elias outlined his aspirations to pursue a major in Economics and aviation during his four years at the academy, followed by eight years of military service.
