Luke Bryan Clinches No. 1 Chart Spot With ‘What Makes You Country’
Luke Bryan's illustrious career continues to grow with the success of his latest album, What Makes You Country. His sixth studio album has scored the superstar his fifth No. 1 debut on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, along with third-consecutive debut at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
Additionally, the album's lead single, "Light it Up," has claimed the top spot on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, earning Bryan his 19th chart-topping single. He also earns the designation of having the longest streak of No. 1 hits on the chart, with "Light it Up" giving him his 10th consecutive No. 1, beginning with his 2014 hit "Play it Again."
“So much thought goes into creating new music and I really try to write and find songs that I feel are staying true to me while staying fresh and fun. I try and imagine people singing along in their cars or with me at my shows," Bryan says. "To have What Makes You Country go No. 1 is so exciting and rewarding for me, my team and my fans. It drives me to keep working harder and growing! Thank you so much for these opportunities!”
What Makes You Country follows the success of the two-times-platinum-certified Kill the Lights, which reached the top spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and Billboard 200 in 2015.
Bryan is set to embark on the 2018 What Makes You Country Tour with Kip Moore and the Cadillac Three tapped as opening acts for the first leg of the trek, which launches on Feb. 16 in Missouri.
