Lukfin + John Tyler, Garrison + Hemphill Highlight Football’s Opening Week

The wait is over.

High school football gets underway this week across East Texas, and although district action is still a few weeks away, there are already some marquee match-ups in this first week.  According to ETSN (East Texas Sports Network), the highlight game of the week in the area will be the Lufkin Panthers - John Tyler battle.  That game will take place at Rose Stadium in Tyler with the kick off at 7:30.  Catch the game beginning with the pregame show at 7 on KICKS 105 with the Big Nasty.

Another huge non-district game will feature the Garrison Bulldogs taking on the Hemphill Hornets.  The Bulldogs had a deep playoff run last year, and this year the  Dawgs will be competing as a 2A team after being moved up by the UIL during the offseason.
