Maren Morris decided to mix it up for her appearance on Ellen on Friday (April 5).

She decided not to perform her single "Girl," as she did on Jimmy Fallon, allowing audiences to fall in love with the soulful track "The Bones," which has already reached more than 2.5 million views on YouTube since she released the track in February.

The Ellen performance wasn’t just pitch-perfect, but provided some incredible visuals. Morris sported a hot pink '80s-style dress, saying on Instagram that her outfit inspiration was "edgy Glinda" from the Broadway musical Wicked. The dreamy light display echoed her vision for creating a show for her new tour, with rainforest-scented fog and cotton candy bubbles.

With the Girl: The World Tour underway, Morris will head back to her home state of Texas next week with Cassadee Pope. Later in the year, she'll be playing in Europe and Australia supported by RaeLynn.

Maren Morris Is Bringing Sexy Back With "Girl"

Morris last performed on Ellen in May 2018 with Zedd and Grey singing "The Middle," her first official venture into the pop music scene. The song was one of the best selling records of 2018, catapulting her to star-status. Her new album Girl was hotly-anticipated after a three year wait from her debut album, Hero.

Morris has 10 Grammy nominations to date, winning in 2017 for "My Church" in the Best Country Solo Performance category.

Following the performance, host Ellen DeGeneres hugged Maren, congratulating her on an ACM Award nomination ahead of Sunday night's (April 7) 2019 ceremony.

She's up for Female Vocalist of the Year, alongside fellow modern queens of country, Carrie Underwood, Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert and Ashley McBryde. The 2019 ACM Awards will air live beginning at 8PM ET on CBS.

The album Girl is available now.
