UPDATE: Thanks to a tip from a concerned citizen, Torres was arrested by deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office within hours of the initial media release. He is currently incarcerated at the Hopkins County Jail, and will be returned to Nacogdoches County for prosecution on the first and second-degree felony charges as soon as possible.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office for helping apprehend Torres.

Original release:

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) is asking for the public's help in locating a Winnsboro, Texas man who was recently indicted by a grand jury on two felony sexual offense charges.

Logan Rey Torres, 18, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony, and indecency with a child, a second-degree felony. Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained a warrant for Torres’ arrest after he was indicted on the charges earlier this month in the 145th District Court. He’s accused of assaulting a child under 14 years old in July 2021.

Torres is 6 feet, 3 inches tall, with black hair. He weighs about 280 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office investigator Brandan Lovell by calling 936-560-7794.

Further south, the Lufkin Police Department is looking for a man that they believe is involved with several burglaries that took place a few days before Christmas.  Many of those break-ins took place at doctors' offices in and around the Gaslight Boulevard area.

Crime Stoppers released a grainy surveillance video showing a man who they believe may be the culprit.  Earlier this morning (December 29), Lufkin Police released a still shot photo from another surveillance source.  This photo is in color and has much better resolution.
