Nacogdoches Deputies Arrest Woman for Aggravated Assault
On Thursday, August 24, around 9:00 a.m., Nacogdoches County deputies were dispatched to County Road 914 in northern Nacogdoches County in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival it was found that the victim had been shot once in the abdomen with a .22 caliber pistol by the suspect, Jaime Davis. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently in ICU.
Investigators arrived on scene and found that there had been a total of five shots that were fired and that the victim was struck one time. Investigators found that Davis and the victim both have had an ongoing relationship together for several years. They also have a child together.
Davis received a phone call from a relative claiming that they had information that the victim had sexually assaulted a child that was related to the family. This information had not been reported to law enforcement at the time of the shooting.
Davis went to the residence and confronted the victim in the front yard and shot him one time. The suspect, Jaime Davis, 37, has been arrested for Aggravated Assault family violence, a 1st degree felony, and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office is investigating the allegation of the sexual assault.
