Nacogdoches PD Release Names, Details in Sunday Morning Homicide
Nacogdoches law enforcement has released more details concerning a fatal shooting that took place early Sunday morning.
Nacogdoches Police Receive 911 Call
According to a Facebook post from the City of Nacogdoches - City Government page, local police received a 911 call Sunday morning at 4:22. The caller told dispatch that a shooting had occurred in an apartment parking lot located at 108 East Seale. This is located near Fredonia Elementary School. The dispatcher was also told by the caller that someone had been shot.
Details of the Homicide
Nacogdoches Police responded to the scene and located a deceased male who was later identified as Ladarius Hogan, 27, of Nacogdoches. Officials were also able to identify a person of interest early in the investigation which led to an arrest warrant being issued for Daquarius Hunt, 19, also of Nacogdoches.
Around 6:40 Sunday morning, police developed information that the suspect was located at 3413 East Main #202. Nacogdoches Police officers, including members of the SWAT team, responded to this location to serve the arrest warrant.
Arresting the Suspect
Police confirmed Hunt's presence and attempted to negotiate with him in order to obtain his surrender. This discussion lasted for the better part of two hours. At 8:56 a.m., Hunt was taken into custody on the warrant for Murder (F-1) without further incident.
Officers from the Nacogdoches Police Department, the Criminal Investigations Division, and the Street Crimes Unit were on the scene for most of the day continuing their investigation. The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office and the SFA University Police Department also assisted in this investigation.
