New Weather Alert Extends Tornado Threat Throughout Pineywoods

At 6:30 p.m., the Storm Prediction Center issued a Tornado Watch until 2 a.m. for Tyler, Jasper, and Newton Counties.

Additionally, the SPC extended the tornado watch that was issued earlier this afternoon to now include Polk and San Jacinto Counties.

The Tornado Watch from this afternoon continues to be in effect until 9 p.m., this includes Lufkin, Livingston and Nacogdoches.

Numerous tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued over the past several hours for counties to the west of Lufkin/Nacogdoches.
