You'll find plenty of bulldogs, eagles, and wild types of cats in East Texas. You may even see a few pirates, dragons, and devils of various colors.

I'm Talking About Mascots

You'll find quite the zoo of mascots at schools throughout the Pineywoods, from Lions to Sandies and Goats to Hornets. Venture out of East Texas and you'll discover some really bizarre mascots like the Port Lavaca Calhoun Sandcrabs, the Hutto Hippos, or the Hamlin Pied Pipers.

Mascots entertain, make people laugh and smile, do cheers, and depending on the weather and type of outfit, they also sweat a lot.

Friday Night Frenzy's Mascot of the Week

Every Friday night beginning at 9 during high school football season, KICKS 105 presents Friday Night Frenzy. We bring you the latest scores from across the area, but there's much more to the Frenzy.

One of our features is the Mascot of the Week. We want to highlight an area mascot for all he or she does to support their school and community.

It's all brought to you by Martin Kennel & Grooming in Nacogdoches and Center.

How To Nominate a Mascot

Just send us the details of that mascot such as the real name of the student, the name of the mascot, and the name of the school. Give us a little background on the student if you can.

Oh, and please include pictures. These photos must be free and clear to use and please let us know who to credit for taking the pics.

Even if the school doesn't have a football program, feel free to nominate your mascot.

You can send this to us at the following email address:
