There will be many tears shed on Saturday afternoon in Lufkin and Hudson. The funeral of Hudson ISD Police Officer Bryan Daniel Holley will take place in Lufkin followed by a procession to the Hudson ISD campuses. Thousands are expected to line the route and/or attend the memorial events planned behind Bonner Elementary.

The Funeral and Procession

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 Saturday at Timber Creek Church located at 2021 S John Redditt Dr in Lufkin. Following the service, law enforcement will conduct the 'End of Watch' (Final Call) in the parking area prior to the procession.

The procession will leave Timber Creek Church, make its way to Highway 94 (W. Frank), and then proceed to FM 3258 and ultimately to Bonner Elementary for a 21-gun Salute, Fly-Over, and the playing of Taps. Afterward, the procession will proceed back through the high school/middle school drive as they continue back to the funeral home which ends the service.

Bonner Elementary Memorial Event

The funeral procession will stop in the grassy area located between Bonner Elementary and Peavy Primary schools. It is outlined in black on the map below. There is where the 21-gun salute, fly-over, and the playing of Taps will take place.

The green-shaded areas are designated for the parking of vehicles that will not be in attendance at the funeral but will be in attendance for this portion of the service. Parking will NOT be allowed in the driveway where the procession will take place. Please pay attention for any other directions for parking that will take place at the event.

Hudson ISD officials are advising those attending the memorial that it will be another extremely hot day in East Texas. There will be several coolers with water set up on the Bonner campus, but you are strongly advised to bring your own water and umbrellas for shade.

Indeed, there will be many tears shed for the passing of such a great man, but there will also be many reasons to be proud of our East Texas community for the respect and love that they have shown and continue to show for Bryan Holley.
