It’s been mostly sequels for Pixar for the last few years. Four of its last five films have been follow-ups to existing Pixar series (Finding Dory, Cars 3, Incredibles 2, and Toy Story 4 if you couldn’t think of them all — Coco is the lone recent exception). That changes next summer with Onward, an original feature from Pixar featuring the voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as a pair of teen elf brothers on a unique journey.

It’s the latest film from Dan Scanlon, whose previous Pixar effort was Monsters University. Here’s the movie’s official synopsis:

Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.

It’s hard to get a full sense of what this “quest” the brothers are on is all about from this early teaser. But the world looks interesting, and Holland and Pratt as mismatched brothers seems like very fun voice casting as well. Plus, when Pixar does make an original movie, they tend to be pretty darn good. Onward opens in theaters on March 6, 2020.
