Remember When RaeLynn Auditioned for ‘The Voice’? [Watch]
Now 22, RaeLynn has made great progress carving her path in country music, but before all the glitz, glamor and two major record deals, she was just a 17-year-old girl with a guitar and big dreams.
In 2012 the then-teen braved The Voice stage as a part of the Blind Auditions process. It's hard enough to stand in front of the judges, but RaeLynn was also tasked with impressing just one of them enough to take a chance on her and invite the young singer to be a part of their team.
RaeLynn took center stage clad in a floral sundress and matching hair piece and her acoustic guitar to sing her own rendition of the Pistol Annies hit, "Hell on Heels." Judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton quickly turned around, while Shelton was mouthing the words along with her. Ultimately, RaeLynn decided to take her talents to Team Blake.
The young singer made it all the way to the Quarter Finals, doing hit covers including "She's Country," "Wake Up Call" and "Free Falling" along the way.
Since The Voice, RaeLynn has been busy releasing music of her own. After the show, she signed a record deal with Big Machine Label Group, where she released her first single, "God Made Girls." This past year, she made the switch to Warner Music Nashville and released "Love Triangle," the first single off her forthcoming debut album, Wildhorse.
"Every lyric takes you through a part of my journey these last four years,” she says of the new project. “I’ve always wanted to put out an album where my personality and songwriting could really shine through and I feel like Wildhorse finally gives fans a true glimpse into who I am as an artist and a young woman."
RaeLynn is currently joining her former The Voice coach Blake Shelton on the road for his Doing It to Country Songs Tour, which also features Sundance Head.
