When it comes to the box office, the number one actor of all-time is none other than Samuel L. Jackson. And this isn’t just a guesstimate, it’s an actual record recognized by The Guinness Book of World Records. Jackson’s movies have made $7.2 billion.

Not even actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, who was the highest-grossing actor for 2010, can hold a candle to the amount of money Jackson has racked in over the years. If you stop and think about it, though, this isn’t a complete surprise.

Jackson has made a ton of movies since 1972, and while he’s not often the lead actor in those movies, they’ve all been big moneymakers, including three ‘Star Wars’ films, ‘Pulp Fiction,’ ‘The Incredibles,’ ‘Unbreakable,’ ‘Die Hard With A Vengeance,’ and ‘Iron Man 2.’ Plus he’s the type of actor who makes several movies a year, not an actor who makes a movie every year or two. All those movies add up in the end.

Currently, Jackson is on Broadway in ‘The Mountaintop,’ about the life of Martin Luther King Jr., and will be seen in the highly anticipated superhero flick ‘The Avengers’ next May.
