Severe Storms Possible Saturday Morning in the Pineywoods
An upper level disturbance is expected to push across Deep East Texas Saturday morning bringing with the a risk of severe weather. Large hail, damaging wind gusts, and even isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out across East Texas, northern Louisiana, and southern Arkansas. Some downpours could also bring 1-2 inches of rain in a short period of time, which given the ground saturation could lead to flooding.
According to the time graph below from the National Weather Service in Shreveport, it looks like Deep East Texas will be in line for the strongest of the storms beginning just after sunrise on Saturday.
