It's been a heckuva week for SFA Lumberjack Football.  After reclaiming Chief Caddo with a last second victory over Northwestern State Saturday evening, the 'Jacks learned Sunday morning that they received a bid into the NCAA FCS Playoffs

SFA will travel to take on the University of Northern Iowa for a 7 o'clock kick off on Saturday evening.  It's great that the Lumberjacks were recognized by the selection committee for their great accomplishments this year.

It was also nice to see the coaches and peers of the Southland Conference recognize some of the individual standouts of SFA.  Gus Johnson was named the 2014 Southland Conference Player of the Year.  The senior running back from Gilmer eclipsed numerous SFA season and career records throughout this past season.  Sophomore quarterback Zack Conque who transferred to SFA from UTSA during the off season was named Southland Conference Newcomer of the Year.  And in his first year as SFA's head coach, Clint Conque gathered Coach of the Year honors.

Gus Johnson, Collin Garrett, and Byron Williams were all named first team All-SLC, while Tyler Boyd, Terran Vaughn, Anthony Pullins, Ishmiah Miles, Patrick Martin, Donald Bryant, Lance Skyler, Keavon Madison, Zack Conque, and Aaron Thomas were named honorable mention selections.

Great job, 'Jacks...now, let's roll through the playoffs!
