Sing for Your ACM Awards Tickets

The Academy of Country Music Awards will be doing something very special this year.  Instead of having the show at their usual venue in Las Vegas, they're moving their 50th annual event to Texas. 

On Sunday, April 19th, AT&T Stadium in Arlington will play host to the biggest gathering in ACM history, and you could be there...FOR FREE!

Tickets were sold out with minutes of going on sale back in April of 2014.

In addition to seeing the who's who of country music, you'll also see performances by George Strait, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Florida/Georgia Line. You will not have this chance again since the ACMA's will be moving back to Vegas next year.

We've teamed up with Dr. Pepper and Lufkin Coca Cola for this huge giveaway.  On Saturday, April 4th from 10-Noon, the KICKS Road Show will be at the Walmart Supercenter in Lufkin giving contestants the chance to showcase their talent on the Dr. Pepper Stage.  We originally planned for this to take place on March 21st, but inclement weather forced the rescheduling.

Here are the rules:

• Contestants will get the opportunity to sing up to 60 seconds of any song a cappella style on the Dr Pepper Stage.  Darius Rucker is a spokesperson for Dr Pepper, therefore anyone singing one of the following songs will earn bonus points.  'Wagon Wheel', 'Radio', or 'Don't Think I Don't Think About It'. (click the song title for lyrics).  An acoustic guitar may be used, but there will be no amplifying or 'mic'ing up the guitar.
• To participate, just show up between 9:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 4th to the KICKS Road Show at the Walmart Supercenter in Lufkin.  Sign up on the registration sheet and you'll get your 60 seconds of fame in the order that you arrived.  First 25 registrants will be allowed to participate.
• The winner will be revealed at 11:50 a.m.
• The background music (karaoke version) of the Darius Rucker songs will be provided, if needed.
• All Darius Rucker karaoke versions will be in the same key as the original songs.
• Contestants under the age of 18 are allowed, however, a parent or legal guardian must be present at the contest.  In the case of a minor winning the contest, the parent or legal guardian will be given the tickets.
• Judges decisions are final
