Country Music Legend Gene Watson To Perform This Saturday in Lufkin

I was trying to come up with the perfect word to describe country singer Gene Watson. He is phenomenal, talented, smooth, and legendary. All those do a decent job of defining this superstar, but let's take a look at the definition of 'anomaly'. According to Merriam-Webster, an anomaly is something or someone that deviates from what is normal, expected, or standard.

Gene Watson will be 83 years old in October, and the fact that he can still deliver the on-point, silky-smooth vocals on classics like 'Love in the Hot Afternoon', Farewell Party', and 'Fourteen Carat Mind' defies explanation. Gene Watson Is Coming to Lufkin, Texas

One of the all-time greats of country music will be performing at The Pines Theater in Downtown Lufkin on Saturday, July 25. The show gets underway at 7 pm. In 1975, Watson hit the top 5 on the charts for the first of many times with the classic waltz, 'Love in the Hot Afternoon'. For 50+ years, the Palestine, Texas-born crooner has been turning out some of the best country standards in history. The Pines Theater doesn't have a dance floor per se, but dancing to two-steppin' hits like 'Memories to Burn' will be encouraged.
