The 9th Annual Pineywoods Cattle Baron's Gala is coming to the George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin this Saturday night.  This year's theme is 'Under the Big Top: The Greatest Cause on Earth'.  As you can probably tell by the title, there will be many circus-themed events and games.  In fact, this year's chairpersons, Lacey and Blake Martin, hope you can bring out in the inner kid in you when attending this year's event.  All proceeds will go to help the American Cancer Society.

Headlining this year's event will be Steve Wariner.  My goodness, where should we start?  Over the course of his career, he has racked up 4 Grammy Awards, 3 CMA Awards, 1 ACM Award, he's a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and he has 14 Number One songs, including 'The Weekend', 'Small Town Girl', 'Holes in the Floor of Heaven', and 'Life's Highway'.  Wariner is also one of the best guitar players that Nashville has ever seen.  Yet, through all the accolades, you will never find a nicer guy.

The gala gets underway with the Baron's Reception at 6 p.m. (you must have baron's level ticket for this).  Entertainment by East Texas' own Sam Shupak will be featured during this reception.

At 7:30, the doors will open and the event officially gets underway.  Midway games will be open and dinner will be served.  Catering this year's gala will be Brookshire Brother's 1921 Catering.  The main course will feature pulled pork sliders, boneless barbeque ribs, fried chicken skewers, along with chicken and beef ribeye shish kebobs.  Appetizers will include mini blooming onions, southern fried picklets, sweet bacon-wrapped smokies, fresh kettle corn, and much more.  Be sure to save room for dessert because we'll have funnel cake fries, fried oreos, and various types of pies on a stick.  Grandough Baking Company will also be there will so delicious cupcakes and Whataburger will provide the late night breakfast.

The gala will once again feature a silent and live auction, as well as raffle drawings, and the Bid Board.  Some of the featured items include a trip to Los Angeles for a Carrie Underwood concert, trip to Las Vegas, zero turn mower, hunting getaway, golf packages, fishing trip, and much more.

Steve Wariner will take to the stage around 10 p.m. but the party doesn't stop once the concert is over.  The dance party will get underway with Jimmy Hughes from Hughes Entertainment providing the music late into the night.
