Portions of Angelina, San Augustine, Sabine, Jasper and Newton Counties are categorized as 'abnormally dry' by the US Drought Portal.  So, the forecast for this upcoming week could spell some relief for those areas and many others along the Upper Texas Coast and East Texas.

An increase in instability and moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will increase the chances for storms in Deep East Texas, especially Monday and Tuesday.  Then, by the end of the week and into the weekend, a tropical wave, currently situated near the Florida Keys, should move towards the Texas coastline by Thursday and Friday.  The system has a low probability at this point of forming into something more organized like a depression or tropical storm, but we will definitely be getting a hike in the rain chances across the region.

No severe weather is expected from these storms, however, some of them could bring heavy downpours, deadly lightning, and gusty winds.  Download the KICKS 105 App to keep up with all changing weather situations.
