On Thursday, February 11, the Nacogdoches ISD Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board read to kindergarten students at Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary.
Students in the advisory board are nominated by their school’s principal or staff and are invited at the end of each school year to become a member.

These students join with the intention of participating on the advisory board from their eighth grade through their senior year.

“This is a learning experience and an opportunity to expand their student leadership skills and abilities,” said Michael Martin, Director of Human Resources.

The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Board’s mission is to represent their schools to the superintendent from Nacogdoches ISD student’s perspective. They are also able to promote the district’s goals by applying input in areas that impacts students in various ways, such as safety, security and performance.
