Last Friday (July 22) the world was pleasantly blown away by a surprise release from Turnpike Troubadours, called "Come as You Are". The Oklahoma based band debuted the song to YouTube with out any press at all, which needless to say had us scratching our heads...
WOW. This is something straight out of ABC's Nashville. You may remember a song titled Travelin' Soldier, it was written in the mid '90s by Texas singer/songwriter Bruce Robison. The song was later covered by the Dixie Chicks, and included on their 2002 album Home. In fact, it became the Texas trio's last No. 1 single, back in 2003.
