Looks like some much needed downpours are in store for the Pineywoods

Lack of rainfall over the past month or so has driven several East Texas counties to issue burn bans

The Summer of 2016 is playing out much like the Summer of 2015.  After a very wet Spring, only a few days of widely scattered showers have fallen across Deep East Texas.

Well, that didn't take long. After the record setting Spring rains, all of the counties of the Piney Woods are now officially under burn bans.

Back in May, we all knew that the record setting Spring rains would be replaced with our typical Summertime heat and dry spells. Wow!  That was quick!
