I've seen convenience store clerks use various weapons when it comes to defending themselves against potential robbers.  Bats, hammers, knives, and guns tend to be the normal tools of defense.

What happens when a bunch of thugs try to rob a convenience store where the clerk is a champion mixed martial arts fighter?

Karma - bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad.  Stated more plainly it's getting what you deserve.
