We've learned through trial and error that forecasters aren't right 100% of the time...I hope this is one of those 'wrong' times, but the latest forecast according to the Texas Forest Service for the upcoming Fall and Winter months and the resulting wildfire forecast calls for below normal precipitation and above normal temperatures through the end of the year.
Over 18,000 acres have now been charred in Trinity and Polk Counties from the 'Bearing Fire', but the good news is that those fighting the fire have made some definite headway over the past 24 hours.

Firefighters, members of the Texas Forest Service, and numerous volunteers were able to get the upper hand this weekend on many wildfires across our state, however, Mother Nature has another dose of dry, windy weather set for Tuesday.
Although some rains have fallen across parts of the state and more is expected in parts of East and Northeast Texas through Tuesday, Texas remains a tinderbox.
