Powerball Player in Texas Wins $1 Million
Texas has a new millionaire thanks to Powerball.

No one matched all six numbers from the drawing for March 8 (2-4-16-23-63 and a Powerball of 13). But, someone in the Lone Star State did match all five of the non-Powerball numbers.
That winning ticket was purchased at this store in Austin.
The Texas Lottery website shows this winning store as Dry Creek Shell, located on Dry Creek Road in northwest Austin, however, it appears the store has changed to an Exxon distributor.
Whoever purchased the winning ticket did not spend the extra buck to opt in for the Powerplay multiplier. That means the winner missed out on doubling his or her winnings to $2 million.
No one else matched all five non-Powerball numbers.
The Next Powerball Jackpot
Saturday's Powerball jackpot was worth $320 million. Since nobody came up with a winning ticket, the new jackpot sails up to $335 million. The estimated cash lump sum payout is $157.3 million.
The next Powerball drawing will be held on Monday, March 10.
Mega Millions Drawing
The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Tuesday, March 11. The jackpot is now up to $256 million. The estimated cash lump sum payout would be $119.5 million.
Always remember to play responsibly and within your means. The approximate odds of winning either the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in 300,000,000.
Recently, $8 million was won in Texas with two Texas Lottery scratch-off games. The winning tickets were sold in Tyler and Granbury. Read more about that here.
