Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins have had a whirlwind year, to say the least. They welcomed newborn Ada James into the world on Aug. 12, just three months after adopting toddler Will Gray from Uganda, and based on the photo Akins posted to Instagram, they're getting a much needed break.

The superstar's wife posted an adorable photo of her and her husband passed out on the couch, her head resting on a pillow on Rhett's lap while he drapes his arm around her. The couple apparently dropped the two little ones off at their grandparents' house and immediately fell into a well-deserved nap. "Off day plans: Go to Mamaw and Papaw’s. Hand kids off to Mamaw and Papaw. THIS. #parenting," Akins writes next to the adorable photo of them crashed on the couch.

These Pictures Prove Thomas and Wife Lauren Are Meant to Be

Rhett's going through a lot of life changes lately, including a recent No. 1 album with the appropriately-named Life Changes. Not only did it debut at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, but also made Rhett the first country artist of 2017 to hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. It marks the first time he's topped the all-genre chart in his career. The project also scored him a No. 1 hit with Maren Morris on "Craving You," and his most recent single, "Unforgettable," is currently in the Top 10 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts.

“I’ve been living with these songs for forever and so for it to finally come out is a huge weight off my shoulders," the singer says of the project. "I’m very excited for the fans to hear it, to finally get to play some of these songs live, but in my head I’m like ‘ok, that’s done.’ Even though everybody else hasn’t heard it, I’m ready to start writing for the next one.”

In between parenting duties, Rhett has a jam-packed tour schedule through November. No wonder he's so tired!
