I got my first yo-yo when I was 8.

I threw away my first yo-yo, when I was 8 -- I could never get the darn thing to do the tricks that were explained on the instructions.

Heck, I couldn't even get the yo-yo to come back to me. 

On this day, the birth anniversary of Donald F Duncan, Sr., developer of the Duncan Yo-Yo, we celebrate world yo-yo day.
