Chinese Teen Sells Kidney for iPad 2
Xiao Zheng, a 17-year-old living in China, wanted an iPad 2 so badly that he was willing to sell one of his vital organs to get it.
Zheng didn't have the money for the tablet computer so he responded to an online ad that offered cash for healthy kidneys.
Zheng got about $3000 after the illegal operation. He used the proceeds to not only buy an iPad 2, but also an iPhone.
When his mother confronted him about how he got his new gadgets, he confessed.
Zheng has since suffered complications from the surgery to remove his kidney. The length he went to to get an iPad 2 has also caused an outcry in China, where Apple products are seen as must-have status symbols.
If you're wondering what Zheng is going to do when the iPad 3 is released ... Well, he does still have another kidney.
