A few weeks ago, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released its 2025 'A-F' accountability ratings for Texas schools and districts.

These grades measure how much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade. It also shows how well a school or district prepares its students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military.

In addition to giving schools a 'letter' grade, a corresponding number score was also given. For instance, schools that received an 'A' were also assigned a score ranging from 90-100.

All schools that received an 'A' from the TEA are to be commended, but we wanted to highlight the best of the best.

We combed through 72 pages of elementary schools that got an 'A' rating. We are highlighting those schools that received scores of 95 or higher.

How We Identified Elementary Schools

We only included those schools that teach at least three grades between 1st and 5th grades. For instance, if an intermediate school teaches grades 5 through 8, it was not included. However, a small school district that spanned from 1st through 12th grade was included.

We used the TEA filter to allow traditional and charter schools for these lists.
